Rooted in Art is a collaborative venture striving for inclusivity and encouragement of the artist in all of us! We all have a creative spirit rooted within us waiting to be expressed!
Rooted in Art is a welcoming space to help each of us lower our inhibitions and freely express our art as we like. Our goal is to showcase art that embodies this spirit
—————
Carrie Wine - Artist, naturopath, eternal peacemaker
Carrie explores any medium she can get her hands on! She enjoys the experience of painting as a journey and enjoys this as much as the completed piece.
Carrie studied art at Central Washington University, has taught for Paint Nite, owned a mural painting company, was commissioned to paint a giant octopus in a commercial kitchen, has continually been an art docent for Sierra’s classes and has worked for a professional faux painting and mural company. Carrie is also a naturopathic doctor and the experience of this artistic venture has been a way to balance her joy of helping others and expressing herself through art.
Tyson Wine - Photographer, storyteller, tree hugger, passion-seeker
Tyson stumbled into a love of photography mainly from an attempt to catalog his adventures and travels.
Tyson’s photography is inspired by a deep love and desire for stewardship of the natural world as well as an appreciation of the beauty humans have created in many built-environments around the world. Our lives are truly blessed by an abundance of beauty that many artists attempt to capture in their work. Living in the Pacific Northwest provides us with the spoils of some of the greatest natural beauty we could hope for. And yet, Tyson still yearns to see more and hopes to share the diversity of Earth’s natural beauty in his work.
Sierra Wine - Painter, author, actress, instigator
Sierra engages in any art and craft within arms reach! She performs in plays, writes passionate stories, and founds and operates small, accessible businesses (she recently started her first not-for-profit face-painting business at a local music festival and expanded her volunteer staff rapidly!) If you pop in to an upcoming event and Sierra is present, don’t be shocked if she steals the attention and draws you into her endevour of the day! Sierra is 9.

ART AS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
AND INCLUSIVITY
a word about competiton…
Sure, we are in the business of selling art. It’s inevitable that we need to make money in order to produce our works.
However, we do not believe that art is a competitive venture. We believe that all people are artists and all art speaks to the energy within others in different ways. We strive to build the connection between our art and the folks out there that recognize it, feel it, or desire it. But we are not “better” artists than the one to our left, right, or across the path. If our art speaks to you, we are happy that our expression aligns with you! If it doesn’t, we are perfectly happy with that so long as you continue striving to find the art out there that does indeed speak to you!
We encourage everybody to try artistic expressions that interest them and scratch the itch within us all to create. Art is a neglected part of our souls in modern times, but those that are willing to take the leap find themselves utterly satiated.
You are an artist. Find your medium.
